The Rehabilitation Empowerment and Better Health Initiative (REBHI), with generous support from the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF), has successfully implemented a skills acquisition and empowerment program for women and girls in conflict-affected communities.

The initiative trained 20 women and girls in practical tailoring skills, including the production of reusable sanitary pads and hijabs, equipping participants with valuable knowledge and skills to promote self-reliance, restore dignity, and improve livelihood opportunities.

To ensure effective learning and active participation, participants were organized into specialized units, including cutting, stitching, assembling, and weaving. This hands-on approach enabled trainees to gain practical experience across all stages of production while enhancing their technical competencies.

Beyond skills development, the program fostered teamwork, confidence, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose, creating a supportive environment where women and girls can rebuild their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to the social and economic development of their communities.

Through initiatives such as this, REBHI remains committed to empowering vulnerable populations, promoting dignity, and strengthening community resilience for sustainable development.
