In our ongoing mission to build resilient, informed, and empowered communities, REBHI has launched a community-based initiative in Bama Town, Borno State, focused on tackling Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

With generous funding from UNFPA through the American University of Nigeria (AUN), this project brings together key local stakeholders—including traditional leaders, youth representatives, women’s groups, and service providers—for awareness campaigns, open dialogues, and capacity-building sessions aimed at addressing deeply rooted issues and promoting sustainable solutions.

Key objectives of the initiative include:

  • Increasing community knowledge and acceptance of SRHR
  • Reducing stigma and harmful practices related to GBV
  • Enhancing local capacity to respond to and prevent GBV
  • Promoting collaborative action among stakeholders to safeguard the rights of women, girls, and other vulnerable groups

Through these strategic interventions, REBHI is reinforcing the role of communities as drivers of positive change and champions of human rights and health equity.

We extend our sincere appreciation to UNFPA and AUN for their support and to the resilient people of Bama for their engagement and commitment to lasting transformation.
