The commemoration of 16 days of activism against gender based violence at Yerwa Government Girls’ Secondary school (YGGSS)

The event started with an opening remark by the school principal Hajja Bintu Bukar who appreciated REBHI for choosing her school for this important program. The program of event included cultural dance, talk show on “GBV Free School” and the establishment of a GBV club.

The ED of REBHI Barrister Fatima Shehu Imam in her remark said that the GBV free school is all about every child’s right to live free from violence. She said parents/guardians/teachers have a role to play in ensuring GBV free school. She said violence in and around schools is a worldwide problem with serious implication on the education sector. The health and well-being of all children should also be considered.

REBHI DIGNITY KITS PRODUCTION AND ASSEMBLY CENTER

To increase access to critical dignity and menstrual hygiene services of women and girls of reproductive age, REBHI established dignity kit production and assemble center (funded by NHF). Twenty (20) affected women and girls of reproductive age in Jere and Monguno LGA of Borno state were empowered and trained on the production of standard reusable sanitary pads and assembly of dignity kit for self-dependence.
